Community Ministries

Sharing God's Word, Living His Love

If you would like additional information for any of our community ministries please contact the church office.

Prayer Shawl Ministry

For the past several years the Prayer Shawl ministry at Holy Cross has provided hundreds of shawls and lap blankets to our local rehabilitation, assisted living, and nursing care facilities in Clayton and the surrounding communities. We meet at the church in Classroom 1 once a month.

Matthews Ministry

The Matthews Ministry serves 20 men and women weekly who are homeless in Raleigh and our surrounding community. We collect canned goods, socks, and gently used shoes.

Backpack Buddies

The Backpack Buddies help support students at East Clayton Elementary who are not able to eat over the weekend without our donations. Currently, we make bags for approximately 30 students that contain the following: Canned meat, vegetables, fruit, breakfast bars, oatmeal, juice boxes, stable shelf milk, noodles, and snacks.

Helping Hands Ministry

The Helping Hands Ministry uses the talents and gifts God has given us to help those in need. It could be a meal, a ride, or help with a move.

Quilters

The Quilter Group meets on the 2nd and 4th Thursday every month from 9am – 11:30am in Classroom 1.

Seasons of Life

Have you (or someone you know) lost a spouse and would like to get together with those who are going through the same struggles? If so, let’s get you connected.

Stephens Ministry

Here at Holy Cross, we have Stephen Ministers who are here to care for people going through life struggles and transitions. What is a Stephen Minister? A Stephen Minister is a person who offers one-to-one lay caring where they listen to their care receiver. Each Stephen Minister can have one care receiver at a time. Stephen Ministers provides high-quality, confidential, Christ-centered care to people who are hurting.

If you are going through a struggle or transition and would like someone to walk with you on this journey please contact Rebekah Bajwa.

Angel Ministry

We are looking for girls (ages 4 -14 years old) who would like to sing, dance, hug and love those who are living in Assisted Living facilities. We need to remind them that God has not forgotten them!

Cancer Support Group

Meets the 2nd Monday of the month. Join us at 6:30pm in Reese Hall.
